Roc chosen as UKAEA’s IT Managed Service Delivery Partner
Roc is delighted to share that we have been selected as the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority’s (UKAEA) IT Managed Service Delivery Partner.
Following a robust, full market procurement process, supported by senior level presentations, Roc Technologies was awarded with UKAEA’s IT Managed Service contract for an initial three-year term.
UKAEA’s mission is to lead the delivery of sustainable fusion energy and maximise scientific and economic benefit. More than 80% of the world’s energy comes from fossil fuels*. Climate change, diminishing fuel reserves, and increasing demand for energy mean the race is on to find alternative, sustainable technologies to supply a growing global population. With no greenhouse gas emissions, inherent safety features and virtually limitless fuels, fusion could have a key role to play in the energy market of the future.
As part of their wider goals to support this strategy, UKAEA have identified a need to underpin their existing project and programme delivery with an extended technical resource. They identified a need for an IT partner to provide IT Managed Services, covering a range of shared technology services across the UKAEA estate.
Leveraging Roc’s extensive experience delivering business-critical digital transformation solutions and services in some of the UK’s most complex and secure environments, Roc will work alongside the UKAEA team to form a collaborative working relationship.
This collaboration aims to help drive innovation and positive change within UKAEA, eliminating any potential constraints and accelerating the IT service delivery by providing professional services for all its departments whilst applying external ideas, concepts and proven technologies from Roc’s sector/client base.
Chelsea Chamberlin, Director of Technology, Roc Technologies:
“I am thrilled that UKAEA have trusted Roc Technologies to support them as they embark on an exciting journey of IT, digital, and transformational change. We are excited to work with UKAEA’s IT team and wider business to deliver value and outcomes through technology and services.”
Andrew Hynes, Director of Computing Operations. UKAEA:
“I am pleased that UKAEA is partnering with Roc for provision of IT services and projects. UKAEA is at the cutting edge of fusion computing, and we have a rich pipeline of projects and service improvement initiatives. We want to deliver best of breed solutions and cope with peaks in demand for new computing services. We expect Roc to be able to help us design and deliver these solutions in a flexible, agile and responsive fashion and look forward to the opportunities this new partnership offers.”
