Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated wi-fi network engineer to join our professional services team. The ideal candidate will handle designing, implementing, and maintaining wi-fi networks for our clients, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The role requires a strong understanding of wireless technologies, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

We have several exciting opportunities in wi-fi design and looking to create and expand the professional services team in this area.

Initial placement will be in the north east full time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy wi-fi networks for various environments, including offices, retail spaces, Higher Education and industrial sites

  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine network requirements and optimal placement of access points

  • Configure and optimise wireless network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure seamless operation

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific network needs and provide tailored solutions

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in wireless technology and recommend improvements to existing networks

  • Provide technical support and training to clients and team members as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Essential
  • Strong knowledge of wireless networking protocols, standards, and technologies (e.g., IEEE 802.11, Wi-Fi 6)

  • Proficiency with network design tools and software

Experience & Attainments

Essential
  • Proven experience as a Wi-Fi Network Engineer or similar role

Desirable
  • Higher Education, Retail, MOD, Government

  • SC or DV Cleared now or previously

Additional Requirement

  • Uk based and happy to travel across country when required or north based to support locations in Newcastle and surrounding area

  • Approved driving licence

  • Previous training and experience in designing wi-fi solutions: desktop design, site validation, installation design, fault analysis

  • Networking design and creation
