Role summary

To work as part of the front-line installation team on BAU and project work, carrying out works detailed below within customer sites to deliver various communication infrastructure requirements.

Relevant onsite training will be given, and career development will be mapped out depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network cabinet installations

  • Primary & secondary containment system installations

  • Installation of fibre / Cat6 or Cat6A horizontal cabling solutions

  • Termination, testing & labelling of fibre / Cat6 / Cat6A solutions

  • Network switch installation

  • Copper patching

  • Fibre patching

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Experience

Role responsibilities
Essential
  • Experience of terminating copper/fibre cabling (Category 6/A)

  • Experience of testing copper/fibre cables using OTDR / Fluke Testers

  • Good knowledge of current installation practices

  • Ability to work as part of a close team to high standards of workmanship

  • Experience of running cables internally and externally

  • Fibre splicing

Desirable
  • Willing to go through Security Clearance leading to Developed Vetting Clearance if required

Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Willingness for continuous improvement

  • Working as part of a team

  • Valid driving licence

Desirable
  • Experience in the installation of containment systems (both Steel and PVC)CNCI Certification or City & Guilds 3667 is a bonus

  • PASMA Certification

  • ECS / CSCS / EUSR Certification

  • IPAF Certification
