Roc Technologies are proud to be recognised as Employer of the Year at this year’s Southern Tech 100 awards. Compiled by The Business Magazine, The Southern Tech 100 highlights the top private IT and telecommunication companies in the region.
Held in March, the annual awards dinner celebrates a range of businesses from exceptional employers to outstanding business leaders. Out of the four categories, Roc Technologies was awarded Employer of the Year based on the commitment on both attracting and retaining talent, an award-winning apprentice scheme, flexible working arrangements for all and a high volume of successful staff referrals. The judges comments highlight the culture within Roc and how open values and incredible team work help keep talented staff by making retention a key priority. The award also recognises the work Roc undertakes with external charities, environmental and community initiatives including sponsoring the local 10km race.
On winning the award Matt Franklin commented, ‘Attracting and retaining staff are key priorities for us. We are in a fast-moving technology space and have some exciting projects, which attracts people to the business. Our apprenticeship programme has been a really successful way of bringing in fresh talent. We develop their skills and engrain in them our culture and values. We also have a lot of staff referrals – it’s all about bringing in the right people who feel the same way as we do and share our values. Things like the business culture are often more important than how much you earn, especially for the younger generation. All of our colleagues want to be part of something and to be at a great place to work. The COVID 19 crisis has amplified the great people that we have in Roc. Our colleagues have rallied to continue to provide services to clients adapting to this dynamic ever changing situation. We have received some fantastic feedback from clients praising our ability to maintain services and I would like to thank every one of our colleagues for their unwavering commitment during this challenging time.’
