Newbury, UK 3rd August 2020 – Roc Technologies, one of the UK’s leading transformation IT service providers, has signed a new two year deal from January 2020 with Irwin Mitchell, one of the country’s leading full-service law firms. Roc will provide IT support within a comprehensive managed services framework that encompasses desktop IT estate, software applications, data centre services and incident support.

Under the scope of the managed services contract, Roc assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of Irwin Mitchell’s current IT infrastructure, as well as supporting an on-going refresh programme to introduce new desktop IT. Roc will also introduce new technologies, including enhanced cyber security and applications that enable more timely, personalised information for clients and colleagues.
Irwin Mitchell is using technology to ensure it can deliver its core strategy of supporting its colleagues in being able to provide the best possible service for its clients. The law firm has been moving at speed towards more flexible working patterns and following the Covid-19 lockdown had 2,800 staff working remotely following an accelerated roll out of both hardware and software supported by Roc.
“This agreement helps support one of the core technology foundations we need to deliver our ambitious programme of digital transformation,” said Garry Dowdle, Chief Information Officer at Irwin Mitchell. “We’ve been impressed with Roc’s approach to support, that they bring an outcomes-focused mindset to our business, and crucially, that they share our values around being a Responsible Business and supporting the communities that we are part of .”
Irwin Mitchell has a strong commitment to the communities it works in, and Roc shares similar values. Both organisations support many good causes including support Wooden Spoon – the children’s rugby charity.
“In differentiating its business, Irwin Mitchell recognises the importance of taking a human approach to law,” said Matt Franklin, Chief Executive, Roc Technologies. “By investing in technology, Irwin Mitchell is on a journey to support its colleagues’, which in turn will boost productivity and deliver more value to clients.
